SAALBACH BIKING PARADISE

What is gravel biking really? Quality time on your bike! Gravel biking is touring, performance, adventure and fun on primarily gravel roads and wide paths. The Saalbach-Hinterglemm tour offerings are as diverse and individual as each gravel biker!

Gravel biking is much more a lifestyle than a discipline

If the narrow single trails and steep descents are too difficult for you, you'll love this new trend of “Gravel Biking”. Gravel biking is the newest trend in the cycling scene. The “racing bike” with the lugged tyres is very versatile and is great even on easy biking trails. The specially constructed bicycle offers riding fun both on asphalt surfaces and on rough terrain such as gravel and forest roads. Saalbach-Hinterglemm has plenty of these and is the ideal playground for gravel bikers!

Gravel biking in Austria's largest biking region

The gravel bikers have arrived in the Pinzgau. Many destinations in the region of Salzburg – like Saalbach-Hinterglemm, have prepared for the new off-road adventurers and offer their own gravel routes. They can build on top infrastructure that has been developed over many years. The flat passages on the newly laid cycling trail through the Glemm Valley ideally connect Saalbach-Hinterglemm to parts of the existing biking network. The result is gravel routes from easy to difficult, from beginner to pros and with catchy names such as “Gravel Devil” or “Dusty Ride”. Gravel bikers can also take tours to Lake Zell or toward the Grossglockner-High Alpine Road. Overall there are eight routes for gravel bikers in the– constantly growing – interactive map of the region.
